Introduction:
It's a yellow, viscous, naturally occurring fat soluble vitamin, found in leafy greenvegetables, used by the body to form prothrombin. (A plasma protein that is essential to blood clotting). Vitamin K1 is slowly degraded by atmospheric oxygen, but is fairly rapidly degraded by light. It is relatively stable to heat, but is decomposed by alkalis.
